Why Women in Dubai Are Craving Real Connection More Than Ever

On the outside, everything seems fine.

Careers are growing. Lives are full. Dubai moves fast, and from the outside, it looks like everyone is keeping up.

But behind that… A lot of women are quietly navigating life alone.

The reality no one really talks about

Dubai is one of the most dynamic cities in the world. But it’s also transient. People come and go. Lives are busy. Expectations are high. And for women especially, that creates a unique pressure.

You’re building a career.
You’re managing relationships.
You’re balancing family, travel, responsibilities… everything.

And somewhere in between all of that, real connection becomes harder to find.

Not surface-level networking.
Not “let’s grab coffee sometime.”

But real people. Real support.

“I didn’t need more events. I needed people.”

When I spoke to Jessica Constantinidis, one of the Leading Ladies of Pink Ladies Games, something she said immediately stood out.

“In my personal life, I went through hardship… and I needed friends to get through that.”

Jess isn’t just anyone. She’s an Innovation Officer at ServiceNow, working across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. She’s spent over 25 years in tech often as the only woman in the room.

Strong. Experienced. Successful. And still, like so many women, she needed support.

Not professionally.
Humanly.

“Women supporting women… having someone to rant to… someone to laugh with like you’re 16 again, that’s important.”

Women don’t lack strength. They lack spaces

One of the biggest misconceptions? That women need empowerment. They don’t. They already have it.

What’s often missing is the environment.

A space where:

  • You’re not judged

  • You don’t have to prove yourself

  • You can speak freely

  • You’re surrounded by people who get it

Because here’s the truth Jess articulated so clearly:

“We juggle everything, life, kids, careers, travel… everything.”

And yet, many women still underestimate themselves.

They hesitate to speak up.
They second-guess their ideas.
They hold back, not because they’re not capable, but because they’ve been conditioned to.

“The only limit is in your head.”

The power of the right people around you

When we asked Jess what kind of women she surrounds herself with, her answer was simple:

Honest. Supportive. Real.

Not just people who cheer you on, but people who tell you the truth.

People who show up.
People who stay.
People who have your back when it matters.

“If nobody tells you, you’ll never know.”

That’s what real community looks like. Not perfect. Not polished. But real.
