Supporting local is how communities grow
On 31 October, teams of 5 women take over The Sevens Stadium for 6 short, hilarious battles. One Saturday morning. All fitness levels welcome, no training required. You bring four friends and a bit of nerve, we bring the rest. It's the kind of morning you end up talking about for months.
But the events that stay with people are never about one thing. So this year, alongside the competition, we're building something I care about just as much as the games themselves: a marketplace for the women building this city.
Room for the founders
I come from an entrepreneurial family, so I know what it takes to build something from nothing. The thrill of the first customer. The quiet months you don't post about. The years of work before anything looks, from the outside, like a business at all.
Anyone who has done it knows the truth: it is rarely glamorous, and it is almost never done alone.
That is where community earns its name. A real one does more than clink glasses when things go well. It opens doors. It makes introductions. It gives the people building something a place to be seen by the people who might just become their next customers.
Pink Ladies Games has always run on that idea. This year we are making it tangible.
A marketplace, not just a competition
Alongside the battles, we are creating space for local founders to show what they are building. Women across Dubai are making extraordinary things: in wellness, in beauty, in food, in fashion, and in a hundred lifestyle brands most people have not discovered yet. The marketplace is where they meet new customers and become part of the day itself.
The women compete. The people who love them come to cheer them on, and to wander a marketplace worth discovering. That is the morning: energy on the field, and plenty to find around it.
More than a decade of showing up
You do not build a community with a launch campaign. You build it by showing up, again and again, and by keeping the promises you make to the people who trust you first.
Pink Ladies Games has spent more than ten years doing exactly that. More than 20 cities across Belgium, four earlier editions here in Dubai, and now a fifth. The relationships come first. Everything else follows.
The comeback
This is more than restarting an event. It is women together in Dubai again. It is real visibility for local founders. It is a morning that celebrates what women in this city are building, on the field and off it.
